Welcome other languages guests! this is my first time that I gonna write in other language that isn´t my native one. Well, what I about to describe is what we, chilean people does, in our National Day ( September 18)
What it suppose we celebrate? well popular think is the day of our independence (actually this is the april 5th when in the battle of Maipo´s Valley the Spanish army was defeated in 1818)
the truth is the September 18th is remembered because of the first Government meeting (1810) where, in a illegal meeting some people voted for an independent country.
There is many details to tell....but it will be surely a long history, well if u wanna know, just tell me.Mom and Dad dancing "cueca" our national dance, of course they aren´t dancing with the official clothe that is use by the "huaso".
Now, how we celebrate this day? there are many ways, we will dance "cueca" what is the name of our national dance, eat some "empanadas", these ones are like the Japanese "gyoza" but bigger, inside they have onions, meat, dry grapes and olive. Of course we make the famous "asado" (it´s like the barbacue, for name some asociation) we put many meat at the fire!, taking advantage of this fire sometimes we made bruchetes, wich we called "anticuchos";

(Some bruchettes and bread)

Dad is preparing the meat!
get some "tortillas" and "pan amasado", these two are handmade bread.
This is the "mud horn" where we made the "empanadas"
4 men of the family (one left), eating "empanadas"

My bros and me practicing some aim!
These 2 are from "Chacabuco" , a place at the north of Santiago where was a famous battle against the spanish army.
My 2 little bros (when they was still "little") with some mechanism for the work at farms...behind u can see some vineyards, this is in the local area of "los Andes" , north of Santiago.
Here u got them! the "huaso" he is a typical person of our traditions.

Big bro enjoying meat and wine, using a typical had of "huaso", and the little one is Maximiliano, trying to get some extra food as usual; he deserve an extra post.
Here I´m in the Rancagua´s main square, here was another famuos battle against the spanish, the Chilean army was defeated here T.T
Well, all these pics are from 2 years ago (2004) now u gonna get newest ones from the last year:
three bros looking the horizon (searching for our destiny !?)
Mariella, my GF trying get down my little bro
My turn to prepair the fire....
All the family a year ago....and as usual Max trying to get extra food. The chicken´s name is Pollolo, is my little bros´ pet.

Trying to get a boat, all these was shooted at "Caren lagoon" at the west of Santiago.
I think this year we gonna go there again...
Hope ur enjoy these pics and feel fre to left ur opinions, complains or anything.
